Internal links are links that go from one page to another within the same domain. This type of link is usually used on pages to connect one article or product with another article.

 

Imagine, for example, that you have a blog on carpentry, and you offer useful information to your visitor. When reading your article, you are giving them the option to understand the content better by linking to another page where you can find an explanation of a specific word or topic.

 

Many of your posts will be large and will likely need to reference previous posts. Internal links are the tool that allows the reader to read more posts on your blog that are related to what they are reading at the moment.

 

However, it is important to remember that the use of internal links must follow some logic and strategy.  Therefore, we suggest that a good strategy is to prepare a network of links between different contents of your own domain (site, blog, etc.) to facilitate search engines' work and, consequently, improve your positioning.

it helps to crawl new content for the search engine crawler. Through internal links, Google can better track new content because once linked, and the crawler can easily find it.

 

Indexing

It is the indexing phase, that is, placing the content within a Google ranking. Internal links allow the content to be indexed better and more precisely.

 

Ranking 

It helps the content to rank properly in search engines. If the crawling and indexing are done properly, you can see a boost in the search engines.
